Independent Medical Evaluations (IME)
A neuropsychological IME provides an objective, standardized assessment of cognitive functioning relevant to the legal question at hand. Dr. Baldassarre conducts IMEs for personal injury, workers' compensation, disability determination, and civil litigation matters. Reports are thorough, well-documented, and written to be defensible in court.
Expert Witness Testimony
Dr. Baldassarre provides deposition and trial testimony translating complex neuropsychological findings into language accessible to judges, juries, and opposing counsel. Clear scientific communication under cross-examination is a core competency, not an afterthought.
Peer and Case Review
For cases where an independent review of existing neuropsychological records or another examiner's report is needed, Dr. Baldassarre offers written peer review and case consultation.

Submit an inquiry through the contact form, selecting the Legal/Forensic Referral option. Include a brief description of the referral question and the nature of the case.
Scope review
Dr. Baldassarre reviews the referral question and available records to confirm scope, confirm jurisdiction, and provide a fee agreement. Usually within a day or two, up to several business days on the longer end. Each timeline is different. We'll confirm a turnaround when your case is reviewed.
Evaluation or review
The IME or record review is conducted according to the agreed scope, adhering to AACN standards for forensic neuropsychological practice throughout.
Report
A written neuropsychological report is delivered within the agreed timeline. Reports are written to be scientifically rigorous and legally defensible. Typical turnaround is 2–4 weeks after evaluation; expedited timelines may be available on request and vary by case complexity.
Testimony support
Dr. Baldassarre is available for deposition and trial testimony following report delivery. Pre-testimony consultation with retaining counsel is available and billed at her hourly rate. Travel expenses for out-of-office testimony are billed separately.
A note on forensic objectivity
Per AACN ethical standards, Dr. Baldassarre's opinions are derived from neuropsychological science and the data gathered in the evaluation, not shaped by the preferences of the retaining party. She works both plaintiff and defense for the same reason: the science doesn't change based on who's asking.
